Acomplia ( Rimonabant ) is a diet pill recently approved for use in the European Union and pending FDA approval in the United States.

What it is

• The drug is the first Cannabinoid-1 (CB-1) Receptor Blocker.
• It is used for weight loss.

How it works

• Acomplia ( Rimonabant ) blocks CB-1 receptors. These receptors are located in the brain and other organs throughout the body that have a role in breaking down sugars and fats, such as fat tissue, the liver, muscle and the GI tract.
• It interferes with the same hunger signals sent to the brain when people smoke cannabis.
• By reducing the activity of the endocannabinoid system, Acomplia helps to control weight and energy balance and facilities metabolism of fat and sugar.
